暨大驚豔

三月中旬走了趟埔里的暨南大學，校園清新脫俗，出乎我意料。
俗語說「地靈人傑」，一流的大學得有一流的師資、學生，以及充實的資源軟硬體設備等，這之外，環境脈絡的因素亦不可輕忽。學子晨昏沈浸於清幽的校園，當更能享受學習之樂。
搭高鐵到台中，約一小時；暨大總務處的王先生到車站接我到校，八十分鐘的車程；王先生說年底國道六號通車後，行車時間縮短一半，四十分鐘就到了，屆時南來北往更方便。暨大校園遼闊，150公頃，車子從學校大門開進到學院前停下，還得花些時間。校園建築依著地形起伏，花草樹木綠意滿盈、疏落有致，而僅四千餘學生悠遊其中。學校1995年成立，1999年 921大地震學校受創嚴重，現在的建築與道路大多是災後重建的。
我想到埃及神話中在沙漠中活了五百年的火鳥，自焚之後從灰燼中重生。也喚起記憶，當時因暨大教室倒蹋，校長李家同為了學生的安全與課業，向台大借教室上課。王先生說他那時已來校服務，不僅學生，而是整個學校包括行政也都暫借台大。
演講、錄音後，漫步校園，見到波斯菊盛開的美景，趕緊取出相機拍下。埔里的天氣恍如春日，一掃台北的陰霾；同行的老師說如天氣飄小雨或有雲霧，漫步校園或在操場跑步，好像在風景區度假。我想當霧起時，雲煙繚繞的校園更增添婉約恬靜。
想到該校的理念是「培養出具有寬廣的胸襟，堅忍不拔， 誠懇 樸實品格，以人文精神為本，科技新知為用，造福人群社會的優秀人才 」，莘莘學子於山明水秀的環境中陶冶，增加了落實的可能。
暨南行極為愉快，除了優美的校園，談吐出眾的在地司機，還有北師畢業的傑出校友，可說見識了人文薈萃！
