交棒的時候

六月底學期結束，老師們忙著算成績、參與論文口試，我則多了項工作—將所長室的一干物品打包搬回研究室。此刻所長室空曠許多顯得清爽怡人，一如兩年前回接所長職的場景。
熟悉行政的朋友或會問，所長行政職雖一年一聘，然通常一任三年，怎麼兩年就萌生辭意？這要話說從頭，在2004年8月19日第十九篇所長的話─《回顧‧感謝》就見端倪。當時所上通過劉遠楨所長續任，但張前校長以資科所成立劉所長另有安排為由，批文改由我兼。多次向校長表達所上希望劉所長繼續擔綱無效後不得不回接。2004 年底，錢老師、趙老師順利升等為副教授，已具任所長之資格，即想交棒，但因去年八月一日起學校改大，然教育部有要求學校轉型之附加條件；而領導人亦由新任莊校長接掌，學校變動頗大，故在「一動不如一靜」的原則下，仍續兼所長。這學期開學後，頗感歲月不饒人，故於四月底寫辭呈，批准後即遵照程序順利選出了新任所長錢正之老師。提早作業除讓相關的行政移交等更充裕，亦可讓校內同仁與所上師生心態上及早調整，故於六月底的新生座談會上也向新生公告此訊息。
兩年來的感想就是一個「忙」字。傳科所是獨立所，但人少事繁，人手僅所長與助教二人，而這兩年除了例行工作都有額外的事。即或所上歷任助教一向以能幹著稱，也經常忙得不可開交。九十三學年度學校上下卯足全力申請改大，印象中光是諮詢委員的座談就有四次；校務會議開了四、五次。還不僅是開會，各單位還要提交書面資料，無論是教育部評鑑委員的書面意見，或校長出席會議被委員要求說明的問題，教學與行政相關單位都要儘速修正。此外，2004 年一月，張校長責成傳科所負責「數位內容學系」設系申請，那年所上老師或多或少都有寒假作業。九十四學年度除了配合校方轉型與強化單位績效與功能的要求，還有兩項大工程，一是準備各種資料以因應今年十月由財團法人大學評鑑中心負責的「大學評鑑」工作，另一是所上老師彙整各方意見對所上各種規章制度如資格考，以及課程等做全面檢視並調整。
本學年所上課程有相當幅度的調整：多媒體的課程改為必選、且新開了電腦動畫，此課將由數位內容學系新聘老師擔任。調整的原因是為強化畢業生的職場競爭力，並反應市場需求。教師方面添加了生力軍—「數位內容系」新聘的王學武老師。「數位內容系」的申請書由本所撰寫，申請之初張校長表示此系將由本所主導，以期日後系所合一；莊校長接任後新行政團隊對該系另有規劃，中止數位系與傳科所合而為一的作法，僅同意數位系三名新聘教師中有一名由本所負責遴聘，且支援本所課程。在此狀況下，本所聘請具有電腦動畫與遊戲背景，且有產業經驗的王學武老師加入傳科授課陣容。
組織的運作與創新需要新陳代謝，方能生生不息；唯有後浪推前浪，一波接著一波源源不絕，才能創波濤壯闊之局。此時交棒雖固是倦勤，更是慎思熟慮的決定，雖未滿三年，但從傳科所草創、成立，及首任所長一年，對傳科所可謂盡了份。雖戮力以赴，但個人能力、學養不足，不盡理想處還請大家多擔待。
傳科所六歲了，走過了草創階段的篳路藍縷，現略有基礎。相信在新任年輕有為的錢所長領導下，定能走出一條康莊大道，將傳科所帶領至新的境界。
