期勉作一個不惑的人

學過評量的朋友都知，一個好的評估(assessment)應儘可能的透過多元途徑，蒐集各種資料，以為判斷的依據。找到諸多直接、間接資料只是第一步，接下來要釐清，因為資料的觀點可能南轅北轍，甚或彼此衝突，必須經過查證方能確定何者可信，何者是空穴來風、無的放矢。簡言之，這就是獨立思考及判斷的能力，而這也是知識份子或知識大眾最重要的能力：作決定是依據理性，而不是被情感，主觀好惡等偏誤(bias)蒙蔽。
網路論壇是開放空間，其匿名性讓發言者暢所欲言，然也因此各種訊息充塞，讀者瀏覽時得有一套「審視」機制。如夾議夾敘中哪些是事實，哪些僅為個人意見，前幾年「少林足球」續集超強夢幻卡司源於網路笑話，但平面、電子媒體記者未經查證即報導，事後證明此為以訛傳訛的烏龍事件即為一例。本所留言版提供平台讓各方朋友抒發意見，對於提問，所上師生的即時、踴躍回覆，顯示了傳科人與人為善的特質與凝聚力。所方及網管人員一向珍惜這自由、開放的傳統，從未砍文，然近日有些留言未盡符實，除了提醒瀏覽者，在此必須別釐清。
其一，「淡江的老師是一人教一科,國北的老師好像一人都教三四科」
老師教學科目要看體制，如系所合一，教師教學涵蓋大學部與研究所，故教研究所的科目會較獨立研究所的教師為少。
教學成效如從教師角度分析，主要取決於教師的背景訓練、研究專長等與所教科目符應的程度。以目前教育部規定的授課時數來看，除非講座講授，即使得到殊榮可減授，也無法每學期僅教一門課，得教要教三、四門課(要看每課的學分)才符合教部規定，故即使研究所教一、兩門課，仍需搭配著教大學部，即或大學部的教學負擔較輕。
所教科目的數量是否與教學成效成反比？我想影響教學成效的因素很多，時數過多當然會影響，但如在合理的範圍內，教師豐富的學養、諄諄教誨的人格特質等是更具影響。
其二，「往年錄取ID的人數均佔三分之二以上但是 真正展翅高飛的有如牛毛」
「展翅高飛」的定義可能言人人殊。所成立五年多以來，有數位畢業生通過縣市激烈的教師甄試謀得中小學教職；有畢業生考進金融業(大學學商)；有畢業生在公關公司服務年餘後創業，目前業務穩定成長；去年有位畢業生在中央部會任職，偶而在會議碰到該處官員，她說要特別向傳科所致謝，因該生表現優異；今年一月有學生在論文口試前即已考進某國立大學電算中心任系統師，日前回所表示所上的訓練使得他習得一身好本領，該生背景是傳播。如展翅高飛界定為航空相關行業，正巧去年有畢業生通過重重關卡，考上某航空公司空服員，考慮再三後捨空服員就數位學習公司的IDer，這位同學出身學文學院，當初考ID進來。另一位從數千名的競爭者脫穎而出，考上航空公司的儲備機師，我想也許一兩年後，就會真的駕著銀翼展翅高飛遨遊天際了。
上述這些例子，主要是畢業生個人的優秀與勤學努力，然而身為本所畢業生，老師們也頗感安慰。
「道並行而不相悖，萬物並育而不相害」，國內教科或傳科相關的系所性質相近，但各校重點、方向、目標、課程等不盡相同，老師彼此並未「同行相忌」，而是「合作」且「必也射乎」健康的關係。淡江是國內最早成立的教科所，素有口碑，然我們也有自己的定位與方向。朋友如想進一步瞭解比較，相關資料都在網上。
考上兩間研究所應去哪就讀？我想除了恭喜該生，建議除了蒐集、分析擬就讀學校的特色、方向，更應考量自己的興趣、個性、人生志向等，如同好的評估要多方蒐集資料，且釐清疑點，才能做好的決定一般。就讀自己認同目標或理念的系所，讀起來才有喜孜孜的感覺，即或課業繁重、苦不堪言，也會學著苦中作樂，別有一番滋味在心。傳科所歡迎優秀的新血，然新生考量後如決定他校更適合自己，我們也衷心祝福。莊子云「無何有之鄉」，人才只要能服務社稷，何必拘泥出於哪所學校？
考試難免有遺珠之憾，放榜時常感嘆應多錄取幾人，因為備取生也在水準之上。無論正取、備取，我們歡迎你加入傳科所，也會一視同仁公平對待。傳科人需有統整的能力，故學生原先的背景並不那麼重要，但要有顆肯學習的心，不畏艱難，這或許才是順利完成學業的關鍵。
